Show up.
Change lives.
Mountain Valor runs on people who show up. Veterans in rural Virginia are waiting for someone to sit across from them, help them understand what they've earned, and walk them through what comes next. That person could be you.
Ways to Help
There's a role
for everyone.
Outreach Events
Join us at libraries, community centers, and senior facilities across rural Virginia from May through November. You'll help set up, connect with veterans, and make sure no one leaves without a next step.

Mountain Valor Fest

Something Else
Have a skill or idea that doesn't fit neatly into a category? Tell us. Mountain Valor is a small, nimble organization and we find ways to put good people to work for veterans.

What to Expect
Real work.
Real impact.
Volunteering with Mountain Valor means being present with people in hard moments. We don't need perfect — we need people who care, show up, and follow through.
You don't need to be a veteran to volunteer. You don't need special training to start. We'll walk you through what you need to know and match you with opportunities that fit your skills, schedule, and location.
Most volunteers tell us the same thing: they came to help veterans and ended up feeling like part of something much bigger than themselves.
Flexible commitment
A few hours at a single event or an ongoing role — we work around your schedule.
You'll be supported
We'll orient you, match you with the right role, and make sure you feel prepared before you show up.
Rural Virginia focus
Most of our work happens in Floyd, Montgomery, Pulaski, Carroll, Patrick, Franklin, and Wythe counties.
